Nevertheless, cold air cannot make excessively high settings safe and does not replace correct technology selection.

Excessive cooling or positioning too close can also cause discomfort, so the device needs adjustment according to the area and the client’s response.

The device is commonly used with pigmentation laser, vascular laser, hair removal, CO₂ Fractional, or some heat-generating technologies. Its usefulness differs by laser type. For procedures that create surface heat, cold airflow can noticeably improve the experience. For techniques that need precise observation of tissue response, cooling must be coordinated so it does not conceal important signs. If burning increases, pain, blistering, or unusual colour change occurs after the cold sensation has ended, early contact is needed. DIVA assesses the real reaction after treatment and does not assume skin is safe merely because the session was not painful.

Limitations and safety

Cooling devices can cause dryness, respiratory discomfort in sensitive people, or cold injury if used incorrectly. Airflow needs correct direction and should avoid the eyes and unnecessary areas. People with some cold-sensitive conditions need to disclose them in advance. Most importantly, Cold Air Cooling does not compensate for errors in wavelength, energy, pulse duration, or case selection.
